Trump's Deranged 'Press Conference' Has One Lesson For Kamala Harris

The press may not be the "enemy of the people," but it is actively opposing the Harris campaign. That much became clear yesterday.

Donald Trump gave an absolutely incoherent and, by any objective account, mentally disturbed so-called “press conference” yesterday. Here are a few things the assembled press corps did not ask him:

•The alleged $10 million bribe he received from Egyptian President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi during the 2016 campaign.

•What he means by telling supporters that if he wins this election, they will never need to vote again.

•Why he instructed congressional Republicans to block a border security bill that they, themselves had helped to draft.

•Anything about Project 2025 and his relationship to the plan’s authors.

Instead, the New York Times headline on Friday morning read, “Trump Reinvents Platform in a Bid to Court Voters.”

The Harris campaign needs a plan to deal with the media. That’s who she is actually running against. The Times and the Washington Post in particular are acting as a laundromat for Trump’s lies and evident mental debilitation, while avoiding asking him any serious questions even given the opportunity.

Trump is a highly defeatable candidate. But not if the media continues to prop him up and Democrats have no plan to do anything about it. When one campaign is based entirely in lies and smears, the press needs to treat it as such. But that’s not what’s happening.
